About the position
A&G Chem-Dry have, over the past 19 years, built up an enviable reputation for excellence in Carpet, Upholstery and Rug Cleaning in the local area. To help us continue offering the first-class service that our customers expect and deserve, we are recruiting a full time Carpet, Upholstery and Rug Cleaning Technician, to be based at our Rug Cleaning Workshop, in Cotgrave, Nottingham.
This is, initially, a trainee position as there is a LOT to learn to become a fully trained, professional A&G Chem-Dry expert! It doesn’t matter what jobs you have done before as no previous experience of Carpet, Upholstery and Rug Cleaning is required. We like to find the right person for the job and give them the very best training possible!
A big part of this particular job will revolve around our Rug Cleaning service and you will be responsible for “booking in” rugs that arrive at our workshop for cleaning.
Also ….
- Inspecting and identifying rugs.
- Preparing rugs ready for cleaning.
- Post-clean quality control inspection of rugs.
- Bagging and labelling of rugs ready for dispatch.
In addition, you will assist our experienced team of Carpet, Upholstery and Rug Cleaning Technicians both in the workshop and eventually, as necessary, on site in customers’ homes and businesses. For this reason, a DBS check will be carried out on the successful candidate.
It is also the primary role of the Workshop Technician to assist in keeping the workshop clean, tidy, safe and hygienic.
Although this post is workshop based, a full, clean driving licence is essential as there may be times when you will be required to drive one of our company vehicles.

It’s essential that you are well organised and a good timekeeper. We need you to be extremely reliable, in the same way that we offer a reliable service to our customers. We cannot afford to let our customers down by missing appointments or by turning up to appointments late.
Polite and articulate, with good standards of literacy and numeracy, you must also have good verbal and written English skills, working with other members of the team to ensure high quality service provision for our customers, communicating appropriately and effectively at all times.
